DED launch new EPoS package

DED has launched a complete EPoS package for the hospitality sector containing all the hardware, cables and drivers required.

At the heart of the DEDPoS system is the KS6215 Posiflex touchscreen terminal, which features a 15in touchscreen, 1.5GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 40GB HDD, 10/100 base T Ethernet plus additional ports. Windows XP Embedded Point of Service (WEPOS) is preloaded on each terminal.

The KS6215 comes in an aluminium case with a high-gloss piano black front bezel.

The printer used in the system is the TSP100GT from Star Micronics, offering thermal printing at speeds of 250 mm/second, which DED says equates to 45 receipts per minute. It features drop-in paper loading and a guillotine paper cutter, as well as the facility to re-design receipts without changing software.

Also available from Star Micronics is the CB2002 cash drawer with five note and eight coin sections. The CB2002 incorporates a three position key lock which can be used to open the drawer manually or secure it to prevent unauthorised access.

The CB-2002 also comes with a media slot for posting credit card slips, cheques and vouchers without opening the drawer and an under the counter mounting option.
